Yes, Saga does accept fanfiction. But the author should ensure that the fanfiction has been modified to showcase original characters, plotline and more. There should not be traces or references of the original fandom. Saga will not accept fanfiction that has not been edited.
Yes, we accept finished as well as unfinished manuscripts and works in progress. For unfinished manuscripts & WIP, we would like a summary or pitch of the book to be included in your submission, along with your unfinished manuscript.
Yes we do commission new works. Submit a detailed outline of your idea with a summary to us at submissions@saga.net.in.
Yes we love to accept short story collections & anthologies, series and trilogies. Unfinished trilogies and anthologies are also encouraged.
While we accept finished as well as unfinished manuscripts, we do have different specifications for each type of writing version. Please try to stick as close as possible to the below-mentioned guidelines for word count:
Novel: 300-500 pages; 80,000 – 1,00,000 words
Novellas: 150 – 250 pages; 30,000 to 60,000 words
Episodes: No specific word count, you can turn in any manuscript which we will assess and break down into the episodes
Short Story collections: Each story should have a minimum of 2,000 words. No upper limit on total word count or the number of stories in the collection, however, you must submit a collection with at least 8 short stories.
Minimum word count for any submissions: 16,000 words
Yes, we do accept previously published works.
Yes, Saga will accept such submissions.
Yes, if you have a book published elsewhere and would like to make it available on the Saga Fiction App as well, you can send your manuscript and we will consider your submission to be published non-exclusively.
You can send us your manuscript via email or post us a physical copy. Please email your manuscript to submissions@saga.net.in. We appreciate a covering letter/query letter attached with your manuscript outlining a summary of the same.

Once we receive your submission you will be notified by email of the same. Our team aims to get back to you within two to four weeks.
Yes, we pay all our authors an advanced fee after we have read and accepted your submission and the author has signed a contract with us. Further, we also offer authors royalties.
If we choose to commission your work, you do not have to pay us. We will pay you an advance and royalties based on sales. However, if you decide to go ahead with our Publishing Solutions, then there is a fee attached. Read more about that here.
Yes, definitely. We encourage all authors to enthusiastically market their books. We also provide our authors with complete publicity and marketing for each individual book.
Yes, at Saga we employ a meticulous editing process for unfinished and finished manuscripts. We walk the journey of writing a book with the author.

Authors, publishers, and selling partners shall be responsible for adhering to the below content policy and guidelines. The authors, publishers, and selling partners represent and warrant that content provided by he/she/they is:
i) original and not copied from any other person’s work (previously published or unpublished) ii) does not violate laws or copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights and complies with applicable laws in any country from which it is posted or otherwise accessible
iii) does not promote hate speech, the abuse or sexual exploitation of children, does not contain pornography, nor glorify rape or paedophilia or does not advocate terrorism, or other material we deem inappropriate or offensive iv) does not contain material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable v) does not contain any unlawful matter; does not contain any libellous matter or unlawful material or explicit material depicting illegal acts or deemed to be exploitative vi) does not promote hate toward groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity vii) does not include malicious code, which includes, without limitation, viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, or any other computer programming routines that may damage, interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, or expropriate any system, program, data, or personal information.
